Default Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Just heard a rumor that you want to put super x-rays on your cd? not being funny but thats a really old song and was never properly finished so we don't want it on the cd because it doesn't represent the direction we are going with the new stuff and rich's vocals sounded worse than johns!.......once again i'm not being a cunt but i just found out.See you on Saturday.....

peace - jot.

alright jimmy, i dunno how you found out bout the track list as it's a secret but okay i understand what you are saying but i have no choice now, its too late as the cds have been printed!

really sorry i am not being a cunt myself but there are a bunch of reasons of why i included it which i hope you will understand...

ive spent a load of of time remixing it specially for this project and rich came round a while back to rerecord the vocals with my new vocal mic, i thought you all knew about that?! of course i was going to use it when it was finished (not including chunky went to nashville)

it was sposed to a be a surprise for you guys, obviously you were gonna hear the new version eventually, but the song is now called "we WERE the super xrays" and was sposed to be a farewell gesture to the times we had in the band as well as a name check for your new band

aswell as being my recording showreels disc its an ep to showcase all our friends new/current bands/projects & as you didnt record with me i dont have a new chunky track to put on it, i did almost plead with you to record new tracks with me but you all decided not to which i was honestly gutted about, but i cant be blamed for not trying

when neil came round to london to record seymore happy we were gonna add some extra parts to super xrays but decided together that it was finished & cool as it was plus neil said you do still jam it & intended to keep it

i hope it wont cause any kickoffs at the bbq release party or anything as i did it in good faith & will hopefully give you more exposure anyway...

You can use x-rays but chunky didn't record this song so it seems stupid to put that name on it??? also don't want to confuse people....so this is a compromise you can put super on it but under the x-rays not Chunky ok?

Write back when you get a minute

Easy now - jot.

mate sorry i didn't reply, i dunno wot to say really, there's loads of other shit going on right now to be honest

honestly why does it even matter so much? iv been using that song on my continually updated show reels discs since it was recorded & i changed the name on the credit sheet from x-rays to chunky when the band did months ago, & of course you are the same band & everyone thinks it anyway.

the only difference with this cd is some friends will get copies as well as the label people who probly wont even listen the thing anyway let alone read the tiny track listing on it!

ive spent weeks sorting it out, spent over 300 hundred quid on the printing / duplication alone not to mention the 100's lost fucking around in essex trying to record people who dont give a fuck in the 1st place but ive managed to finally create a buzz around it so people are really looking forward to hearing it, so i didnt expect this right at the last minute

im sorry this situation has turned out this way as i had no idea it'd be such a harsh problem, as i said before it was done in good faith, theres nothing more i can say except lets not fall out over this, ive already had years of problems with friends due to fucking band stuff

Of corse we aren't gonna fall out over this but you need to understand why we are saying this, it's not us just being awkward -is the artwork deffinatly done? honestly? it's just that we don't want this going to labels because we never really got the song finished, rich's vocals were never up to scrach, the guitars are out of tune and the song is really old and nothing like the new stuff we don't want to waste all the time and money we spent on senidng out a demos to people for you to give them a uncompleate, out of tune song a couple of weeks later you have gotta understand how it would look for us? we have said you can use the song but under the x-rays which is a fair compromise..... the reason this is all so last minute is because we knew nothing about it until a couple of days ago after doing some detective work.

Once again we are not being harsh but feel this is important.

Peace.

It came to light when rich was wondering who was actually on the e.p, apparently you said there was going to be 7-8 bands on it and out of simple curiosity he went to your myspace page and followed the links.........

Safe.

oh right well anyway whats done cant be undone I'm afraid, they are all printed

so we could go two ways about it...

chunky could kick off about it & ruin it, in which case id say its kinda your own fault & if you don't like it you kinda got what you deserved for leading me on & then not recording a new song for the ep when you had so many chances to come clean

but we aren't like that are we?

so can we all pretend that no one actually cares about it, not mention anything bout it & just believe that chunky is doing an old mate a favour by letting me use the tune i recorded exclusively on this show reels disc?

im still a bit disappointed you guys didn't take it as a compliment - if id wanted to big myself up more i would have used "the x-rays" as people knew i was in them but i thought thats not gonna help anyone promoting a band whose name has changed so wanted to promote current bands... thats what the ep side of the project was meant for

lets all have a drink on saturday..?

You should have asked us man that is the long and short of it, then none of this would have happend and no-one would be fucked off. Was it really a suprise? or did you just need more songs for your e.p and knew we would say no to super x rays so put it on without telling us using our new name.

You gotta get over the fact we recorded else where - we wanted to try something different, once again it was nothing to do with you. we don't have to record with you everytime and if we knew you would use the fact you done it for free as amunition i'm sure we would have been reluctant to do it in the 1st place.

We deserve what we get and i's our fault? what are you talking about? we were happy not to be on the ep at all when you said we couldn't and assumed we wern't that was fine, you cant take everything so personally we shouldn't be made to feel guilty for trying something else.

If you let us know that you needed some help to fill up some space on your ep then we would have helped you out and recorded something on a 4 track or done something acoustic but we thought you had enough bands and wern't using us which was also fine however when we probed into who is on the ep just the other night you still didn't mention anything about putting us on it?

and you can't be dissapointed with us...if you had let us know your intentions in the 1st place we could have sorted something or at least put the right band name on the ep and none of this would have happend.

As for what we can do well it seems you won't listen to anything we have to say and are gonna do what you want anyway?

I am also truly fucked off with trying in vain to get you to see our point, i'm just going to ask you one more time to call the printers and change the name, it's not asking a lot.

Peace.

dont worry, after this latest stuff & knowing exactly how you feel i'll pay to get all the cds printed again!

of course i have listened to what you have been saying man, i just didnt understand cos i guess i didnt see it as such a huge problem & thought everyone would want their new projects linked to the braintree ep, cos every other band on the ep is well up 4 the braintree vibe even if they havnt submitted their best or usual style songs

there was obviously a massive communication breakdown somehow as i tried so many times to book you in for a recording of a new song for the EP

again the reason i didn't ask about super X-rays, after i'd decided to use it, is cos the whole thing was then supposed to be a surprise, & i didnt want you to find out cos no one was supposed to know what the secret track listing was... i admit i screwed up there, i assumed that seeding as rich re-recorded his vocals with me it was pretty obvious the track would be released at some point!?

before that i didnt think you'd care about me using chunky as the band name as i thought youd want as much exposure as possible & i thought it pointless using x-rays and promoting a band whose name has changed. ok i was most obviously wrong and i'm truly sorry.

as for the not recording with me situation i didnt wanna talk about it but as you did earlier, to clarify, all i knew was that...

rich agreed to record new tracks with me when he was round my parents house redoing the box for super X-rays
you agreed to record new tracks with me over a fone call bout my birthday gig idea
neil agreed to record new tracks with me and even suggested dates when he was in london recording, specially when we had the idea bout the joint braintree crew summer ep where everyone records with me

then over the next few weeks you all started being a bit elusive about which dates could be done, my texts were ignored, calls were missed etc. even when id booked you in for three possible weekends no one got back me which made me think you were all avoiding telling me it wasnt gonna happen

then i heard from someone else that you'd already decided to go to stag... thats figures!

now whatever the real reason was is irrelevant now, neil finally told me on the fone & over texts that yeh you may have got a good deal but the main reason you were going to stag was cos you didnt want me to just record 2 songs with highish quality production but you wanted to record a bunch (even a set) of new tracks all live (which you know i cant do in one room with my gear) and that you all wanted a real lofi "almost poor quality" production as thats the style of music you are all into now and that you didnt think i was able to achieve that.

i admit i was fucking pissed off as i thought you'd be my most loyal clients but i accepted that reason i was given & to prove that, it's what i believed was also the main reason why me & neil went our separate ways over the braintree summer ep cos i didnt want a raw live track on it amongst all the multitracked produced stuff

so imagine my surprise a month later when someone links me the new chunky myspace page with 2 multitracked highly polished well produced quality sounding songs...

i wouldnt have taken it personally that you recorded elsewhere if id known thats what you wanted to do from the beginning, what i did take personally was that you all said yes to recording new tracks with me & then decided not to, without telling me the truth. its my career & future im talking about now not some cunting around in student bedrooms anymore. i take it more seriously than anything.

just remember i did everything in good faith & for the braintree scene & was hoping for the best out of this for everyone

easy now
