this is in reference to schizoacoustic's studio running a legacy Digidesign Pro Tools TDM Mix system, instead of the newer Digidesign Pro Tools TDM HD systems...

rokitpowr has stayed with a legacy Digidesign Pro Tools TDM Mix system as the only real benefits of having HD for us right now would be to run TL Space & Massey TD5 in TDM rather than HTDM & RTAS respectively & that HD has automatic plugin delay compensation (PDC), whereas with our Mix system we have to manually calculate PDC & use a short delay plugin on every channel - meaning we lose the 5th plugin slot, but it's only really essential for drums, & if you were to need 5 plugins on a drum track you are doing something wrong in the tracking process.

Anyway as we can get by without running those two plugins in TDM (however annoying it is) & we are good at math & can manually compensate for plugin delay, it really isn't worth the thousands of pounds it would cost to upgrade all our PCI cards & probably the G4 as well to run an HD system, when that money can be spent on crane song gear
